Updates & Improvements

“Over the past few months, I have developed a deep understanding of what this venue means to you,” Wyatt said in a statement. “It is our mission to take positive steps with the concept of transparency and responsibility as our north star.” Informed by guest feedback and industry research, Wyatt has outlined seven key areas of improvement for the space. These include a larger dancefloor with direct sightlines, an upgraded L-Acoustics line array sound system, and expanded hospitality and lounge areas.

The venue also plans to address long-standing logistical concerns by reimagining pickup and dropoff zones for smoother entry and exit and improving cell reception with additional Wi-Fi towers. In a push to create a safer environment, Avant Gardner will increase security presence while introducing patrol cars and community ambassadors to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.

These changes follow a tragic incident in June 2023, when an attendee of The Brooklyn Mirage was found deceased near the venue. Wyatt acknowledged the need for accountability, stating, “As the new leader of Avant Gardner, I own our past mistakes as we continue to build toward a bright future and ensure a safe, welcoming, and secure venue to dance and connect.”

Avant Gardner began in 2015 as a roving party series before evolving into an 80,000-person entertainment complex and opening The Brooklyn Mirage in 2017. With its reopening planned for next year, the venue is poised to usher in a new era of transparency, safety, and world-class experiences for its guests.
