The name Fyre Festival might conjure images of cheese sandwiches and stranded influencers, but its next chapter could be in your hands. Founder Billy McFarland, fresh off a failed reboot attempt in Mexico, has officially listed the entire Fyre Festival brand for sale.

Statement & Details

In a statement released this week, McFarland said it’s time for him to step away and let others take the reins. After securing what he describes as a “new Caribbean island” willing to host Fyre Festival 2, he claims he’s no longer the right person to lead the revival. “For FYRE Festival 2 to succeed, it’s clear that I need to step back and allow a new team to move forward independently,” he shared.

Offer to Buy

McFarland’s call to action is now live: the brand’s official website is accepting offers for the full package — a rare IP bundle that includes festival trademarks, digital assets, artist support contacts, domains, unreleased marketing materials, and even the licensing rights to its two viral documentaries.

Despite its disastrous past, McFarland touts Fyre Festival as one of the most “powerful attention engines in the world” — and he’s not wrong. The name still garners headlines and endless social commentary, making it a unique opportunity for entertainment entrepreneurs to transform its notoriety into a new vision.

Meanwhile, a separate Fyre-branded project is already in development under the leadership of media exec Shawn Rech, who’s planning to use elements of the brand for a new music streaming platform focused on discovery and fan curation.
