Techno legend Carl Cox is set to return to Ultra Music Festival in 2025 with Evolution, an exclusive new live show. Announced by the festival organizers, this groundbreaking set will be Cox’s first-ever fully live performance at Ultra, crafted specifically for the 25th anniversary of the festival.

Carl Cox Takeover
After skipping the 2024 festival, Cox will rejoin Ultra’s RESISTANCE MegaStructure, where he’s been a staple since the festival’s early days. This time, he’s bringing Evolution—a unique performance featuring real-time sound creation. Thus echoing the innovative feel of his 2022 album Electronic Generations. “For Ultra’s 25th, I wanted to deliver something extraordinary, and this is it,” Cox said in a statement.
As a highlight of the anniversary event, Ultra will introduce the “Carl Cox Invites” stage takeover, where Evolution will serve as the closing set. Techno pioneers Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Stephan Bodzin, and Dubfire are also slated to perform on this exclusive stage.

Ultra’s 2025 lineup is stacked with global superstars, including Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Zedd, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Gesaffelstein, Axwell, and Charlotte de Witte, plus rare b2b sets like deadmau5 with Pendulum and Anyma b2b Solomun. This anniversary event will be one of Ultra’s largest productions to date.
