Why is Okeechobee Taking the Break?
In an official statement, founder Julio Mario Santo Domingo III explained that while they initially aimed for a 2025 return. In August 2023, the festival team had already revealed that the event would not take place in spring 2024 to allow time for re-imagining a more diverse, multi-genre lineup.
“We’re focused on bringing back the magic of Okeechobee with unique, one-of-a-kind performances,” said Santo Domingo. “This break allows us to create experiences that can only be found at Okeechobee.”
