Lollapalooza is hosted at Grant Park every year in the heart of downtown Chicago. This international music festival has brought in crowds of more than half a million people, and is considered one of the best music festivals in America.

However, year after year fans question the process of making these lineups. The lineup in 2024 hosts some of the biggest names in the EDM Community like Zedd, Fisher, and Skrillex. See full lineup

Issues

The Lollapalooza 2024 lineup has resulted in reduced ticket sales and are extensive. Why is “The Killers” headlining, but Zedd is not? Zedd is one of the biggest international artists and is releasing his new album, Telos, at the end of August. This gives Lollapalooza the perfect opportunity to not only leverage his influence and drive sales, but also help him promote his album.

Additionally, artists such as Tate McRae, Sexyy Redd, or even Fisher made the lineup, but why are they supporting artists with half of the influence such as “Stray Kids” or “Hozier”? Does Hozier even make music anymore? And can anyone explain who Melanie Martinez even is?

Lollapalooza’s target demographic is age 18-24, why would the marketing team allow them to release this lineup? Fans want to see their favorite artists, not their parents favorite artists. These reduced ticket sales should be a wake up call for Lollapalooza, and we hope they make an effort for their fans next year.
