Details & Donations
Authorities have obtained new surveillance footage that could help track down the suspect. A nearby business captured a “quick snippet” of the moments leading up to the stabbing, showing the attacker approaching a group before the tragic incident. (Out of respect, we will not show the footage.)
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is actively investigating and urging anyone with information about the suspect to come forward. (Learn how to submit information below.)
Who is Amanda Torres?
Torres was more than just a nightlife figure—she was a UCLA graduate, activist, and advocate for social causes, including Los Angeles fire relief efforts.
“She donated her time to go and feed the fire department and other people who needed it,” said her father, Rogelio Torres. “She was always for helping people… and the community of Los Angeles.”
Security Improvements
Following the tragedy, major Los Angeles promoters such as FEVER and The LA Raver have pledged to increase security, install metal detectors at entrances, and enforce zero-tolerance policies at future events to prevent similar incidents.
How to Help
A GoFundMe campaign for Torres’ family has raised over $50,000 of its $30,000 goal. Donations can be made via GoFundMe, and anyone with information on the suspect is urged to email JusticeForMandi@gmail.com or call the LAPD tip line at (877) 529-3835.
