On Sunday, April 20, the duo showed up at an Arizona fraternity to drop a surprise DJ set. At first, the scene was electric: phones in the air, students packed in tight, ready for an unforgettable moment. But just 45 seconds into their first track, police stormed in and shut the whole thing down.

A video posted by The Chainsmokers shows an officer grabbing the mic and warning the crowd, “If you’re under 21, leave right now or we’re going to start writing tickets and arresting people.”
Rather than let the party die quietly, Alex Pall got on the mic and told the crowd, “We’re paying the fine, we’re getting another 15 minutes!” Cue the loudest cheer of the night.

The Chainsmokers then fired off a quick set packed with their biggest hits, including their chart-topping classic “Closer,” plus a few fresh remixes to keep the energy alive.
The night ended with a true frat party moment: Pall laughing with a student who had creatively mixed vodka, Mio, Liquid IV, and water into a milk carton.
Even though the set was short-lived, it’s safe to say The Chainsmokers turned what could’ve been a disaster into a viral college memory.
