John Summit grew up in Chicago, Illinois, the birthplace of house music. His early exposure to the city’s deep house scene shaped his sound. Influences included classic Chicago producers as well as modern artists like Green Velvet. Summit studied accounting before pursuing music full time, a shift that became defining in his career.

Summit’s first releases surfaced in the late 2010s through labels like Defected. Tracks such as “Forgotten One” began to circulate in underground circles, giving him early recognition. By 2019, he was performing at regional U.S. festivals and gaining momentum with club-ready productions that captured attention from established DJs.
