In an interview with Capital Dance, John Summit confirmed that his sophomore album is on the way, along with a series of exciting collaborations.

When discussing his role as a mentor—both through his Experts Only label and in college classrooms across the country—Summit credited Patrick Topping as a major influence.

“Patrick {Topping} has been a big inspiration,” he shared. “When I was coming up, it was always artist-led labels, so I almost see it as my duty to give back to the next generation of artists.”

Summit also revealed that his focus isn’t on continually growing his brand but rather on fostering a sense of community with his next album, ensuring that it feels deeply connected and authentic.

Second Collaboration w/ Sub Focus

John Summit and Sub Focus delivered one of 2024’s biggest dance anthems with GO BACK, and now they’re teaming up once again. The duo is currently working on a new project that aims to merge house music and drum & bass, striving to create “something that has never been done before.”
Summit has been collaborating with Sub Focus in the UK, refining their genre-blending sound. In addition to reuniting with Sub Focus, he also confirmed an upcoming release with vocalist Julia Church, adding another highly anticipated track to his lineup.

Despite the shift away from albums in EDM, John Summit believes in their importance, noting that his all of his biggest inspirations released them. With his upcoming sophomore album, he aims to stay true to the inspiration, while pushing house music forward.
