Biography and Career

Raised in Philadelphia, Subtronics began producing music as a teenager, fascinated by electronic sound design and bass-heavy rhythms. In the early 2010s, he started uploading experimental dubstep tracks to SoundCloud, quickly catching the attention of the underground bass community.

His breakthrough came in 2019 with “Griztronics” — a collaboration with GRiZ that went viral on TikTok and became a festival anthem. The track’s success propelled him from club stages to the biggest festivals in the world.

That same year, Subtronics launched his own record label, Cyclops Recordings, as a platform for experimental bass producers. The label has since become a cornerstone of the modern dubstep scene, featuring artists such as Level Up, Akeos, and HE$H.

Subtronics’ 2022 debut album, Fractals, showcased his versatility, blending melodic bass with aggressive riddim textures. Its follow-up, Tesseract (2023), pushed the sound even further — solidifying his reputation as both a crowd-pleaser and a technical innovator.
